My story from the old khf site.


While cycling near Tonbridge in 1944/5, I heard & saw seven of them, going towards London.
I stopped cycling to look at them in the sky, then I realised, one was heading straight for me, suddenly the engine stopped, I jumped off the bike, & crashed down on the side grass.
It landed a quarter of a mile, in front of me & exploded. These were some of the first wave of
Flying Bombs. I found out later there were seven sites in France, they came from.
I did not get to Tonbridge that day, I turned round and cycled home.


This could have been a test run, as I never saw any more, on my way home.
